Schweitzer Mountain Resort has officially opened its new beginner downhill mountain bike trail, The Beargrass Trail. The 4-ft-wide beginner downhill trail rides six-and-a-half miles from summit to village at an average grade of 6%.

The City of Spokane Parks & Recreation department is offering a Leave No Trace workshop for outdoor enthusiasts. The program teaches how to reduce environmental impact while hiking, camping and enjoying other outdoor recreation activities.
