Support Your Local Refuge—Get Involved with the Friends of Turnbull

Friends of Turnbull supports the education mission of the wildlife refuge by engaging volunteers to help with educational and conservation programs, including environmental education outreach to school groups on and off the refuge. The refuge’s environmental education program increases environmental awareness for up to 8,500 students annually. Friends of Turnbull also offers educational events and workshops for the general public. On March 11, the Friends of Turnbull will be hosting their annual Wild Refuge Dinner and Auction fundraising event at the Wren Pierson Community Center at 615 4th Street in Cheney. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a silent and live auction, dinner and a speaker to follow. Tickets are $50 at the door and all funds raised go to support the mandate of the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge: to protect and enhance wildlife and their habitats through education, research, habitat preservation and restoration and recreational activities. Buy your tickets online at www.Fotnwr.org/auction.html. //
